July - beginings

I really do mean to check in here more than once a week.
It can get a little crazy.

That's my life, alternating between nothing to talk about and no time to talk about it.

Canada Day was a pleasant surprise.
The town's party happened at the park by our house, from pancake breakfast to fireworks.
Instead of spending our time there we got our BBQ fix with some family at my Uncle & Aunt's house.
After we rushed home we caught the fireworks from our driveway.
This is my first firework picture!
The next day, after my night shift I went on a hike with my mom and sister, up
I can never get enough of the view at the top of the Hope Lookout.
I absolutely love that hike!
I went home for a few hours between engagements and baked an angel food cake for a belated birthday celebration.
We headed out to Chilliwack and took Shane's parents for dinner.
It was a hot (dress worthy) evening.
Perfect for summer.
My second day (first full day) off I went to the states with my sister, to stock up on a few things.
I might have done a little shopping too (earrings! candles!), but it was all harmless.
For dinner we had M&M over and I pretty much (okay definitely  demanded a baby of my own after holding Josh.
His adorable two-month old smile and wonky little faces, they had my swooning. And oh! that coo!
I melted.
Dinner was pretty great.
Grilled pork chops (from Lepps, best I've ever had), a plethora of grilled veggies
marinated pepper, & onions, zucchini roll ups, goat cheese stuffed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes & sweet potatoes. I could eat them every day!
Today I spent all day making a beautiful cake for Steph's birthday celebration tomorrow evening.
I think I might deserve a self-pat-on-the-back for this one.
In other news:
The sunsets we've been seeing have been redonk!
This must be the cutest air freshener ever!
It has been confirmed that my oven is WAY to hot.
This is the temperature for 350 F.
Oh how much heartache and misery I could have saved myself!

  1. Looks like you have had a wonderful end to June and a great start to July. Hope the rest of the month is just as wonderful.
Nice cake! You do deserve a pat on the back for that one.
