A "great" long weekend.

Beautiful early spring (late winter?) snow drops dancing in the sunlight.
I've spent the last four days perpetually blowing my nose and popping tylenol.  There hasn't been a lot to show from me.  Here is what I did manage:
 A bald eagle in flight.
Nasi made with calrose rice is the best
Waffles with buttermilk syrup...don't ask me how I managed this one.
Lots and lots of tea.
Just as I was about to go stir crazy I decided to make the folks at my local thrift store sick.  I found these beautiful mugs and bought two.  When I got home I looked them up online and found them selling for $8 each (at the cheapest price!)  So I ran back to the store and bought the remaining three.  Only $2.50 each! They are beautiful, I really do love them.  They are the "les bandes platinees" pattern from Fitz and Floyd discontinued in 1997.
I also found this brand new-never been used Trudeau fondue set for $7.  We'd been wanting one for a while but not wanting to spend the $40+ for a new set.  See our makeshift fondue pot here.
Lastly I managed these Dream Bars.  They are awesome.  Super awesome!  Crunchy, nutty, sweet. (not that I could taste them)  Walnuts and coconut and brown sugar! Heaven!  (According to my husband who claims not to have a sweet tooth but has eaten half the pan in 16 hours.)  Make them!
